Dear ATW5kers, We know that many members of our community are facing uncertainty and potential job loss. We have thought long and hard about whether to move forward with this year’s race. In the end, we’ve concluded that the importance of 1) physical activity for one’s mental and emotional well-being and 2) coming together in community are powerful reasons to carry on.
The AtW5K, however, will look a bit different this year. We’ve long collaborated with sponsors who know and support our community. Instead of asking for prizes and donations, we are reaching out to them with an aim to highlight services that might be helpful to you and your families as you navigate the weeks and months ahead.
This year we will not select a designated charity. If you wish and are in a position to give this year, we encourage you to “pick your own cause.” If you’re willing to let us know (anonymously is totally fine) who you give to and the total amount given – whether in honor of this race or not – we’d be thrilled to share basic giving information with you, our race community, as well as with our race sponsors.
